Sago is one of the main staple food of majority indigenous people in the eastern Indonesia. As endemic plant that grows in swamp areas, sago tree is wildly grown and is a sustainable source for carbohydrate as they grow very quickly in clumps of different ages. Similar to bananas, they propagate naturally on their own.
